Being brought up on an isolated Scottish island the environment has always provided a deep inspiration for my work. Exposure to the technical side of creation, through a career in conservation, has also widened my interest and enjoyment in exploring different traditional materials and techniques.  Latterly, my work has taken on a more illustrative style perhaps also directly influenced by the techniques encountered during a career in ‘paintings conservation’.
